Terms of use

VirtuaTilt assistant and desktop extension — for the VirtuaTilt controller developed by 3DPTronics (www.3dptronics.com).

What this is

A free service that answers questions about the VirtuaTilt controller, developed by 3DPTronics (www.3dptronics.com), from our official documentation, through an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT. We also publish an optional extension that runs on your own computer and inspects your VirtuaTilt setup.

What we support: 3DPTronics supports the VirtuaTilt hardware controller — the board, its firmware, and the profiles we ship for it. That is the whole of it.

Third-party software

Everything a VirtuaTilt connects to is made by other people. That includes the pinball games themselves — Visual Pinball, Future Pinball, Pinball FX, Pinball FX VR, Pinball M, Zaccaria Pinball, Star Wars Pinball VR, Pinball VR Classics and the rest — and the supporting tools: DOF (DirectOutput), DOFLinx, BAM, PinEvent, PinUP Popper, PinUP Player, DMDExt, Baller Installer, along with Windows and the PC itself.

We do not develop, publish, distribute, control or support any of them, and we are not affiliated with their authors or publishers. Their names are used only to say what a VirtuaTilt works with.

Our documentation explains how to connect a VirtuaTilt to them, and the desktop extension can read their configuration to help you work out what is wrong. Those findings are a convenience, not a support commitment. They carry no warranty, they may be incomplete or out of date — that software changes independently of us — and we accept no responsibility for it or for anything that follows from changing it.

Whether a particular game works with a VirtuaTilt, and how well, is up to that game and its publisher. A game can change or remove support at any time, and we have no control over that.

The extension never modifies third-party software. It reports what it finds and points you at the documented procedure. Any change is yours to make, at your own discretion and risk.

Accuracy

Information is provided in good faith and without warranty. Documentation, products and third-party software all change. Confirm anything important — particularly anything affecting safety or a purchase — against the current official documentation before acting on it.

AI assistants can also make mistakes, including with correct source material. Our tools cite the page each answer came from precisely so you can check.

Prices and availability

This service never quotes a price, a discount, stock level or delivery time. Current pricing and availability come from the product page only.

Acceptable use

The service is offered for finding out about and getting the best from the VirtuaTilt controller, developed by 3DPTronics (www.3dptronics.com). Please do not attempt to disrupt it, to extract bulk content from it for republication, or to use it in a way that breaks the law.

The desktop extension

The extension is licensed for personal use with your own VirtuaTilt hardware. It may not be redistributed, published, resold, or used as the basis for derivative works. It is supplied as-is, with no warranty of any kind.

Before it changes anything on your cabinet it shows you exactly what it would do and waits for you to agree, and it backs up the current configuration first. Your cabinet also has its own recovery paths, documented in the wiki.

Availability

Provided as-is, with no uptime commitment. We may change, suspend or withdraw it at any time.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, 3DPTronics is not liable for any loss or damage arising from use of this service or the extension, including any loss arising from third-party software. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you bought a product from us your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will appear on this page with a revised date.
