VirtuaTilt assistant — the service that answers questions about the VirtuaTilt controller developed by 3DPTronics (www.3dptronics.com).

The VirtuaTilt assistant answers questions about the VirtuaTilt controller using our official documentation. It is read-only and needs no account.

What we record

Aggregate usage measurements only. For each call:

• which tool was called — for example a documentation search or a profile lookup;
• the search term, game or product name the assistant sent, truncated to 200 characters;
• any option the assistant chose along with it — for example which cabinet software it said you were using;
• whether it succeeded, and what kind of answer it produced — a match, no match, or a request we declined to answer;
• a little about the answer itself: how many results came back, how well the best one scored, which troubleshooting case or product it landed on, and whether the material came from our own pages or from documentation credited to others;
• which version of the service answered.

That is the whole record. There is no further field, and nothing is derived from the request beyond what is listed above.

What we do not record

• No name, email address or account — there is none to collect.
• No IP address or device identifier.
• No conversation content. We see the search term the assistant composed, not what you typed or what it replied.
• No cookies, no tracking pixels, no advertising identifiers.

We cannot identify individual users, and we cannot link two requests to the same person.

Why we record anything at all

Chiefly to find gaps in our documentation. A search that returns nothing tells us something is missing from the wiki, and that is what we write next. The measurements also confirm the service is running correctly.

Who else sees it

Nobody. The measurements are held in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, the infrastructure that runs the service. They are not shared, sold or transferred to anyone.

How long we keep it

Ninety days, after which it is deleted automatically by the platform.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, export or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will look into it.

Assistants have their own privacy policies

You reach this service through an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT. Whatever you type goes to that assistant's provider under their privacy policy, which is separate from ours and which we do not control. We receive only the tool call the assistant chooses to make.

The optional desktop extension

We also publish an extension that runs on your own computer and inspects your VirtuaTilt setup. It sends nothing to us. Its findings stay on your machine and are shown to you through your assistant. If you choose to send us a diagnostic report, you do so by pasting it yourself.

It makes one kind of outbound request, and only when you ask it whether your feedback software is current: it reads the published version numbers from the DOF, DOFLinx and BAM project pages. Those requests carry nothing about you or your machine — they ask those pages what the current release is, exactly as opening them in a browser would. Nothing is downloaded or installed, and no request is ever made to us.
